2008 Revision for the Guide to Officers and Advisers

The 2008 revision to the Guide for Officers and Advisers is now available. The guide has been updated to include the national chiefs since 2006, the national OA committee structure, past NOAC attendance, and information on the new OA Lodge Finance Manual. The guide also includes updates to the Quality Lodge Petition and clarifications on chapter organization and officers. Lodges and Sections are strongly encouraged to download the revised Guide to Officers and Advisers to have the most up to date information.

2008 ArrowCorps5 Service Team Member Emblem

The National Order of the Arrow Committee announces the release of the 2008 ArrowCorps5 Service Team Member Emblem. This colorful patch is being issued to Arrowmen who have committed to serving this summer at one of the five ArrowCorps5 sites. The Order is proud of the service its members are about to provide and encourages every member to wear their Service Team Emblem and tell the story of ArrowCorps5!

  • [Lodge Finance Manual Cover] Lodge Finance Manual

    The Lodge Finance Manual provides ideas and guidelines for budget building and control, the jobs of lodge members related to lodge finances, financial recordkeeping, inventory control, financial reports, and money-earning projects. Using this manual will help the Order of the Arrow lodge develop proper financial procedures that will strengthen its position as a responsible part of the council.s program.

    2008 Field Operations Guide

    The new FOG contains an updated national OA committee organizational description and a revised Appendix 3 . Ceremony Team Evaluation. The appendix has been revised to require team members to wear their current OA sashes with their American Indian regalia; not to wear wigs or parts of the flag; and to provide guidance on wearing shorts, T-shirts, socks, and appropriate footwear. A statement has also been added that the BSA policy regarding weapons must be followed by ceremonialists.

    CTI Session 7 CTI - Session 7: Living the Legacy

    During the National Planning Meeting the Training subcommittee released Session 7 of the Conclave Training Initiative, Living the Legacy - "The Order of the Arrow 2008-2012 Strategic Plan". Session 7 focuses on understanding the purpose of the 2008-2012 Strategic Plan and the importance of the lodge becoming an integral part of the council. Sections are encouraged to download the resource material for use at upcoming conclaves.

    ArrowCorps5 Participant Update

    ArrowCorp5 sites that have not reached capacity will continue to accept participants until June 1, 2008. Following June 1 only the National Office of the Order of the Arrow will be able to grant access.
    Final fees for a total of $250 per participant per site are due May 1, 2008. Fees paid after May 1, 2008 will be $300 per participant per site. Please continue to the ArrowCorps5 Promotional Area for more information.

    2007 Quality Lodge Recipients

    The National Order of the Arrow Committee is please to announce the 2007 Quality Lodge recipients. The Quality Lodge program recognizes a level of excellence in lodge program and operation. Congratulations to the lodges that received this honor!

    2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference Dates

    The National Order of the Arrow Committee is pleased to announce that the 2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference will be held at Indiana University, August 1-6, 2009. Please make sure you have this date on your lodge calendars.

    2007 Quality Lodge Pin Order Form Posted

    The 2007 Quality Lodge Pin Order Form has been posted to the Forms Section. Lodges that obtained Quality Lodge in 2007 should use this form for purchasing pins for the lodge membership.

    2008 Quality Lodge Petition Posted

    The 2008 Quality Lodge Petition is now posted for download. Lodges should review the requirements to obtain 2008 Quality Lodge Petition to plan activities in 2008.

    2008-2012 Strategic Plan

    As Scouting's National Honor Society and as an integral part of every council, our service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults will be models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich the lives of our members and help extend Scouting to America's youth. The 2008-2012 Strategic Plan focuses on these key traits assisting lodges with promoting these ideals and endeavors..

    October 2007 Operations Update

    The national Order of the Arrow committee has been granted limited permission to use the U. S. Forest Service logo on its ArrowCorps5 memorabilia. Sections, lodges, chapters and councils do not have permission to use the logo.
