Here are some selected items of note from the December 28, 1999 National Order of the Arrow Committee meeting at West Lake, Texas.

Priorities set for 2000
Continuing the implementation of the Order’s Strategic Plan, four priorities have been established for the coming year. They are: (1) development of a lodge adviser training program;   (2) implementation of Phase II of the Lodge Assistance Program for OA sections;   (3) continued development and implementation of the OA Troop/Team Representative program; and   (4) service.   (More information on the New Role of the Section and the OA Troop/Team Representative programs is available in the "National Programs" section of this web site.)

Regions Chiefs added to National OA Committee
Chairman Ed Pease announced that effective this date, the four sitting region chiefs are appointed members of the National Order of the Arrow Committee. In addition, region staff advisers become non-voting members of the committee.

Lead Advisers named for 2001 Jamboree OA roles
Lead advisers for OA-sponsored events at the 2001 National Jamboree were announced. Individuals wishing to apply for staff should contact their local service center for a Jamboree staff application.       Youth Staff - Kenneth P. Davis
OA Service Corps - David Halliday
      Indian Village - David Shettles

Trail Crew, Voyage Programs extended
The National Committee has approved the extension of both the Philmont Trail Crew and Northern Tier Wilderness Voyage conservation programs through 2002. Both programs have already received individual applications for the 2000 season, so interested Arrowmen should apply as soon as possible. You can obtain the application in the "National Programs" section of this web site.

2000 Quality Lodge Requirements revised
2000 Quality Lodge requirements have been slightly revised since the National Leadership Summit. Lodge advisers should refer to the revised requirements which are being distributed in the 2000 Program Pak, sent in care of local Scout Executives upon completion of the lodge’s current rechartering process.
