Ice Cream Social
What more could one ask for after an excellent closing gathering?
Obviously a closing party, and that’s exactly what happened. Arrowmen
had a gigantic Indian Summer, 900+ person Ice Cream Social. All-you-could-eat
ice cream was not the only exciting thing going on; Arrowmen were
able to reminisce on their weeklong endeavor and contemplate all that they
had learned. The air was filled with the buzz of conversation and Arrowmen
truly realized what an awesome and unique experience Indian Summer was.
National officers and committee members scooped ice cream--truly demonstrating their servant leadership. Western Region Chief Matt Griffis
said, “The only thing better than the taste of this vanilla ice
cream is seeing the happiness in the faces of the Arrowmen I serve it to.”
After being served by the golden-looped volunteers, Arrowmen gathered, chanted
and cheered in the Spilman courtyard.
Some Arrowmen took this social as a last opportunity to get that patch they’d
been hunting. Others used the time to exchange contact information or teach
that last bit of Indian culture. The ice cream helped create a lively
mood and participants kept the party going. Arrowmen were sad that the week was coming to an end, but excited about taking
what they had
learned back home to their councils and lodges.
