Operation Service
At this year's conference, the Activities and Recreation
Committee (ARC) provided an opportunity for Arrowmen to participate in an activity that is the founding purpose of our
organization - service. "Operation Service" consists of
various work projects carried out by Arrowmen during the conference, both on and
off the Iowa State University campus. These projects included cleaning up around the lake on the ISU campus, rendering
service to the Ames Police Department and a working at a youth sports complex. The
service projects were completed by hundreds of Arrowmen on Monday and
Tuesday afternoons. Arrowmen got their hands dirty and pitching in to helped
the university and the city of Ames.
Those Arrowmen who participated in Operation Service for a minimum
of two hours earned a limited edition 2004 Operation Service Award
patch! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to join together
with hundreds of Arrowmen from all over the country to live up to the
Order's greatest ideal— cheerful service.
